Bill Krupke, Ph.D.

Dr. Krupke is an expert in the design, build, and application of the most advanced and highest power laser systems, enabled by his leadership roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and current strategic consultancy to high power laser technology companies, including as a Director of IPG Photonics (NASDAQ:IPGP).

Dr. Krupke co-founded the Laser Directorate at LLNL in 1972, the organization responsible for the development and execution of the Laboratory's Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) and Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) national R&D programs. During his 27 years there, Bill variously served as Program Leader, Chief Scientist, and finally Deputy Associate Director for 20 years.

Prior to his LLNL service, he held technical and management positions at the Hughes Aircraft Company, Minneapolis Honeywell Company, and the Aerospace Corporation.

Dr. Krupke holds a B.S. degree in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
